Subject
Autism; Timothy Richardson; Ponchatoula High School
Description
PONCHATOULA, La. —
An employee at Ponchatoula High School used the power of music to help a student with autism acclimate on his first day of school.
The student, named Evan, transitioned to the new school, which was daunting for him, according to his family.
A school employee, Timothy Richardson, went above and beyond to learn about Evan’s interests before the first day so he could help him with the transition.
Evan’s family told Richardson about him being a Taylor Swift fan.
When Evan arrived at school, he and Richardson had a Taylor Swift dance-off.
The heartwarming moment was caught on video.
The school staff said this was their way of demonstrating their commitment to their students.
