Description
On April 5, 1945, United States Army Air Forces officer James Warren decided he was going to break the law. The law in question? A base regulation at Freeman Field in Seymour, Indiana, where he was stationed, that created separate officers’ clubs: one for white officers, one for Black officers. Warren was part of the 477th Bombardment Group, also known as the Tuskegee Airmen.
