A week after Tiger Woods strolled around Limerick Golf Club to win the J P McManus Pro-Am, Elaine Dowdall (Wexford) showed her class on the same course to win her second Lancome Ladies Intermediate championship when beating Marie Morrin from Naas 4 and 3 in the final. Morrin had earlier beaten last year’s Irish Close champion Claire Coughlan on her way to the final but found the steady play of Dowdall too much to handle.
