Fergie Jenkins – Led the Majors in Wins for 14 Seasons
Subject
Sports; Baseball
Description
From 1967 to 1980, Oklahoma resident Ferguson Arthur Jenkins achieved the improbable — he led Major League Baseball with the most wins (251) in that 14-season span while pitching at home mostly in hitter’s ballparks. “During those 14 seasons, and for all my career really, I didn’t consider pitching to be work — I was having fun getting most hitters out in the major leagues,” Jenkins said.
